About The Grappling Lab
Edwin Peng, head coach at The Grappling Lab in Southern California, is a second-degree black belt under the prestigious GF Team. He started training Brazilian Jiujitsu in 2007. In addition to his decade plus experience in BJJ, he graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Masters of Science in Exercise Science, and holds a degree in Psychology from UCLA. During his graduate program, he extensively studied and researched the fields of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor learning in order to create an effective Brazilian Jiujitsu training program, culminating in his graduate thesis designing a training protocol for Jiujitsu players. During his time at CSULB, Edwin was heavily involved in teaching – serving as a science tutor, teaching associate, and finally as a lecturer.
