About Koosha Hakimi
Koosha Hakimi is an Iranian American musician and composer who is known for his fresh and innovative approach to playing drums and piano and composing story telling music. He started playing piano at age six and later on picked up drums in high school. He moved to the U.S when he was only nineteen years old and was able to adjust and thrive quickly in the local music scene. Transferring from a Palomar community college in San Marcos CA, Koosha graduated from UC Irvine in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Performance in Jazz Drums where he studied with
world-class musicians such as Jason Harnell (Maynard Ferguson), Kei Akagi (Miles Davis) and Darek Oles (Brad Mehldau) to name a few. His early band is called the Dapper Bandits and now he publishes his music as a solo artist under his name.
