FOODLAB is a family-run firm that was started in 2007 by Nino and his mother Esther as a catering service, as seen in this 1981 photo. They have grown over the years to run three cafes in the Los Angeles region and offer catering for a range of events, including weddings, parties, and photo shoots.
In 2019 they decided to go back to their catering roots due to the shifting economic landscape and the increasing prominence of meal delivery services in consumer preferences. This meant shutting down their cafés and shifting their operations to become a catering business serving take-out and to-go meals from their central kitchen, which was ideally situated close to their busiest cafe.
